Reported Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool target Patson Daka has been backed for a move to England after scoring four times in a 10-0 victory for Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday, as reported by Krone.

Only a day after the 21-year-old was labelled the “next Thierry Henry” by one of his former coaches, Daka produced a finish the Premier League legend would have been proud to call his own.

Cutting inside from the left on to his ruthless right foot, the Zambia international opened up his body, deceived a beleaguered goalkeeper and slotted home at the near post.

If the 10-0 shellacking of Bregenz in the Austrian Cup is anything to go by, Daka is as useful on the left as he is on his right.

Two of the forward’s four goals on the night were slammed home in style with his so-called ‘weak foot’.

It is these lethal finishing skills that have Tottenham mulling over a move for a man who would be tasked with easing the burden on the overworked Harry Kane in the English capital (Football London).

Liverpool have also been linked with the £20 million-rated Daka, eight months after they raided Salzburg for Takumi Minamino (Far Post).

Andi Herzog, a former Austria international of 103 caps, thinks Salzburg’s latest goal machine wouldn’t look out of place in the Premier League.

“From year to year, Salzburg sell the best players,” says the former Israel boss, referencing Daka’s two-goal haul in a recent pre-season friendly with Jurgen Klopp’s side. “The ‘super talents’ keep pushing their way to the top. The work in Salzburg is impressive!

“I have to highlight Patson Daka. Dynamic, supple. I wouldn’t have been surprised if he had flown straight to the island after the 2-2 draw with Liverpool.”

Salzburg will be desperate to hold on to a man who scored 27 times last season, especially after cashing in on Minamino, Erling Haaland and Hwang Hee Chan since the turn of the year.
