Reported Leeds United and West Brom target Bright Osayi-Samuel is hoping to secure a move to another English side after rejecting a £4.7 million switch to Club Brugge, according to West London Sport.
In truth, the 2020 Belgian league champions probably knew that their pursuit was doomed.
Despite seeing a near-£5 million bid accepted a fortnight ago, Osayi-Samuel was not exactly rushing to pack his bags.
But after deliberating whether or not to follow in Kemar Roofe’s footsteps, the former Blackpool flyer has opted to stay in England instead.
That does not mean, however, that he will still be a QPR player when 2020/21 kicks off.
Although no one has matched Brugge’s £4.7 million offer thus far, there is no shortage of interest in Osayi-Samuel.
The Sun (26 July, page 64) reports that West Brom are interested, perhaps seeing an old-school winger with ‘blistering pace’ as the ideal replacement for Grady Diangana at the Hawthorns.

Crystal Palace are considering a bid of their own with Wilfried Zaha’s future more uncertain than ever (West London Sport).
There is also interest from Leeds, West Ham, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton, according to AllNigeriaSoccer in May.
It remains to be seen, however, if QPR would be willing to accept a similar £4.7 million bid from a Palace, a Wolves or an Everton.
Do not be surprised if that so-called ‘Premier League premium’ comes into effect and drives up Osayi-Samuel’s price-tag.
