It has been reported that West Brom have made contact with Chelsea over a potential loan move for Batshuayi.
However, according to the report, the 26-year-old Belgium international striker is unlikely to move to the Baggies, as he wants to join a club who will be playing in Europe next season.
The Times reported in August of interest from Leeds in signing Batshuayi from Chelsea this summer, with the striker having worked with Whites head coach Marcelo Bielsa at Marseille.
Should Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion maintain their interest?
One can understand Batshuayi reportedly being eager to move to a club who will have European football next season.
However, Leeds and West Brom should not give up on signing the 26-year-old just yet.
After all, the summer transfer window will stay open until October, and if no clubs playing in Europe come for the striker, then the Belgium international may decide to look at alternatives.
