According to DiarioMadrista, Real Madrid are not willing to pay Lucas Vázquez what he wants, amid reported interest from Leeds United.
It has been reported that Vazquez earns €3.5 million (£3.11 million) per year as salary, and Madrid have offered him the same wage for three more years.
However, the 29-year-old winger, who is out of contract at the Spanish and European giants at the end of the season, wants an increase of 15% on his salary, which Madrid are not willing to give.
The Daily Mail reported earlier this month that Leeds have discussed the possibility of signing the Spain international in the January transfer window.
Summer transfer possible?
Vazquez has established himself as an important player in Zinedine Zidane’s Madrid team, and it is hard to see Los Blancos entertain any offers for him.
However, given the reported stalemate in talks over a new contract, Leeds could get the chance to sign the 29-year-old in the summer of 2021.
According to WhoScored, the Spain international has made 14 starts and two substitute appearances in La Liga for Madrid so far this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists in the process.
