Reported Celtic target Joe Hart has told BBC Sport that there is plenty more to come from him.

The former Manchester City goalkeeper – described by City manager Pep Guardiola as “incredible” in October 2018, according to ESPN – has said that he is ready for a new challenge, and that he needs a club to believe in him.

The England international, who is becoming a free agent after leaving Burnley this summer, has admitted that he knows that clubs such as Real Madrid are not going to come for him.

However, the 33-year-old is confident that he can do a very good job for a club who believe in him.

The Daily Record has claimed that Celtic have already spoken to Hart’s advisors, and that a second round of talks will take place this week.

Hart told BBC Sport: “Maybe from the outside, people are thinking it is a time for panic, but from the inside it is a time to look forward and see all the opportunities.

“I am young when it comes to goalkeeping. I am even younger when it comes to the mental age of a guy who just wants to go in goal and have people whack balls at him.

“I am under no illusions that Real Madrid are going to knock my door down, get [Thibaut] Courtois out and bring me in. But there is plenty more to come from me. I just need someone to believe in me and I will repay that faith.”

Celtic transfer this summer?

Hart has struggled for playing time for a while now, and there is an element of risk in Celtic signing him.

Moreover, in recent years, the Englishman has made costly errors when he has played.

However, there is no doubt that Hart is a very good goalkeeper with a wealth of experience.
