Aston Villa, Derby County and Cardiff City reportedly want Ethan Ampadu of Chelsea.

Ethan Ampadu of Chelsea walks out prior to the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Chelsea FC at Selhurst Park on December 30, 2018 in London, United Kingdom.

According to Goal.com, Aston Villa, Derby County and Cardiff City are interested in signing Ethan Ampadu from Chelsea in the January transfer window.

Championship duo Derby and Villa and Cardiff in the Premier League are reported to be interested in securing the services of the 18-year-old on loan.

Chelsea, though, claims the report, are not willing to let the youngster leave on loan at the moment.

The Premier League club could change their stance over the teenager – who can operate as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder – later in the January transfer window, according to Goal.com.

Hope for Aston Villa, Derby County and Cardiff City

Ampadu is only 18 years of age, and it does make sense for the youngster to train with the Chelsea first team and work with manager Maurizio Sarri.

However, a loan spell at Villa, Derby or Cardiff during the second half of the season will benefit the Wales international in terms of getting regular playing time in a competitive playing time.

It seems that there is still hope for Villa, Derby and Cardiff in their reported pursuit of the 18-year-old – who earns £3,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com, and is a rising star.
