Celtic might have an advantage with regards to signing Aaron Hickey.
A lot of impressive clubs are reportedly keen on the Hearts left-back – including Lazio [The Scottish Sun] – following an excellent season at Tynecastle, on an individual level anyway.
Thing is, Celtic have also been heavily linked with a move for the 18-year-old and maybe, just maybe, the Hoops have a wildcard.
Glasgow might not be as glamourous or as cultural as Rome, where Lazio are based, and they might not be able to pay him as much as, say, Southampton, who are also said to be in the running.
But what Celtic do have going for them is the fact that Hickey is a fan of the Parkhead club.
According to The Scottish Sun, the Glasgow-born teenager was pictured holding a Bhoys scarf above his head away to Old Firm rivals Rangers some three years ago.
Celtic is clearly a club that’s close to his heart and if he gets an offer from Neil Lennon and Head of Recruitment Nick Hammond then he might just find it difficult to turn down, especially if he’s the type to visit away games against their bitter neighbours.
