Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing the Bordeaux ace.

According to a report from Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, Liverpool are keen on signing Bordeaux ace Francois Kamano for around £13.4 million this summer.

The Reds already have one of the most deadly attacking line-ups in world football.

It could be argued that Jurgen Klopp needs to add more strength in depth to his attacking options, however.

And whilst Kamano is a decent young player, he would surely be viewed as an underwhelming signing for Liverpool.

The 23-year-old’s stats for Bordeaux leave a lot to be desired. He has racked up just 29 goals and 14 assists in 127 appearances in all competitions for the French club.

Reds fans are already growing concerned at their club’s lack of transfer activity this summer. Klopp has brought youngster Harvey Elliot in from Fulham, but that surely won’t be enough.

And a move for Kamano might just add insult to injury for Liverpool fans.

He is a decent player, but he surely will not take the Merseyside outfit to another level.

And that’s what they need, if they are going to usurp Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title this season.

Klopp would surely be better off by making a real statement and signing a big-name world class attacker before the start of the new season.

Nicolas Pepe seems to have already passed Liverpool by, but there are plenty more elite stars out there waiting to be signed. And the Reds have the money. Kamano would just be a cheap option, and one that certainly will not get the Anfield faithful’s pulses racing.
