Liverpool’s season is now pretty much about one thing: winning the Champions League.
Jurgen Klopp will have one eye on a top-four finish but really, of course, but it won’t bring them a trophy.
Remember, Liverpool destroyed everybody last season en route to a Premier League title and considering they’re 25 points behind leaders Manchester City at the moment, you could say Klopp’s side haven’t exactly mustered a strong defence of their own.
There’s a number of very good reasons for their poor domestic form but really, it doesn’t matter.
It’s all about the Champions League and the Anfield side are gearing up for a quarter-final tie against Real Madrid next month.
According to Diario Gol, Liverpool are interested in signing Real attacker Rodrygo Goes.
Klopp and Michael Edwards will get a good look of the Brazilian starlet in the last-eight clash next month, but the player himself is solely focused on eliminating the 2019 champions, which he described as a ‘very difficult’ tie.
He said: “In the Champions League, Liverpool will be very difficult, but we are already training very hard for everything to come and we hope to go through to the next round.”
