Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly keen on signing the Portugal international.

According to a report from the Birmingham Mail, Wolves are interested in signing Portuguese star Gelson Martins this summer, and if Nuno Espirito Santo manages to bring him to Molineux, it really would be a magnificent coup for the Black Country outfit.
The 23-year-old winger is reportedly keen to terminate his contract with Sporting Lisbon after players and staff were reportedly attacked by a masked gang at their own training ground two months ago.
Marca report that the Primeira Liga outfit are determined to keep hold of Martins, however, amidst interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Marca claims that Atletico Madrid are keen to bring the winger to La Liga, with the Mirror reporting that Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal are all interested in obtaining his signature.
And the pedigree of the clubs reportedly interested in signing Martins just goes to show how much of an exceptional signing the Portuguese winger would be for Wolves.

Martins possesses pace in abundance, and the direct manner in which he plays would undoubtedly help add a certain level of potency to the Black Country outfit’s play in the final third.
Whilst it will obviously be hard for Wolves to beat the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool in the race for his signature, the Portuguese presence already at Molineux might just be enough to tip the scales in their favour.
And if Nuno does manage to bring Martins to Wolves, it would surely be seen as a wonderful coup for the football club.
