Romain Perraud was reportedly keen to join Scottish Premiership champions Celtic but they signed Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo instead.

Romain Perraud was keen to join Celtic once he decided to leave Nice this summer but, as reported by Le Telegramme, he will have to make do with a move to Ligue 1 newcomers Brest instead.
You can see why any young player would seize the chance to sign for the dominant force in Scottish football. Joining Celtic comes with a guarantee of trophies after all, plus the chance to prove yourself in the Champions League.
Furthermore, Perraud would have been fully aware that the likes of Victor Wanyama and Virgil van Dijk arrived at Parkhead as little known talents before earning big-money moves to the Premier League.
So that is perhaps why he was interested in pulling on the famous green and white hoops. According to Le Telegramme, Perraud has six offers on his table with Celtic one of those that he was interested in accepting.
However, the opportunity passed him by when the Scottish Premiership champions signed Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo from Rapid Vienna instead.

Though there is a positive to this tale. The other club Perraud was keen to join, newly promoted Brest, have stepped up their interest of late and L’Equipe claim that a four-year contract, and a £1.8 million transfer fee, had been agreed for the Nice left-back. As of Wednesday night, he is officially a Brest player.
But, with all due respect to The Pirates, they won’t be claiming domestic honours of playing in European competition any time soon. Unlike Celtic.
