Celtic target Shon Weissman has hinted that his time at Wolfsberger may be coming to an end, telling Sky that he might only be playing for the Austrian Bundesliga outfit for another couple of weeks before heading for the exit.

Will this prolific Israel international be another Sadio Mane or the second coming of Munas Dabbur?

Since leaving the Salzburg finishing school for Southampton, Champions League winner Mane has gone from strength to strength, establishing himself as one of the finest footballers on the planet.

Dabbur, in contrast, has struggled to make the grade in a more competitive league. He had a remarkable goalscoring record in Austria but, during spells at Sevilla and Hoffenheim, has found the net just once.

So Celtic’s pursuit of Weissman could go one of two ways.

The Times report that the Wolfsberger talisman could be heading to Parkhead as Odsonne Edouard’s replacement this summer.

And Weissman himself has poured more fuel on the fire after yet another goal in Wednesday’s defeat to Hartberg.

“Maybe I’m only here for a month,” he admits.

“I have to focus on getting better. Because if I do actually change clubs, I have to improve every day.”

Weissman’s desire to hone every element of his game should have defenders all over Scotland quaking in their boots.

The Israeli frontman has recorded 31 efforts in 33 games this season, including a Rooney-esque overhead kick against Sturm Graz last week.

And, given that there is not much to separate the respective top flights of Austria and Scotland, Weissman shouldn’t find goals hard to come by at Celtic.
