Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna was linked with the likes of Scottish Premiership side Celtic and English Championship side Nottingham Forest over the summer.

Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna, who was attracting interest from the likes of Celtic and Nottingham Forest in the summer, has hinted that he will be looking for a move when the transfer window re-opens in January.
Over the course of the summer, Celtic expressed their interest in McKenna by putting in a bid for the player, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
That resulted in the centre-back handing in a transfer request in August, with Championship duo Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers also lurking for his signature, according to The Daily Record.
Speaking to Sportscene on BBC Radio Scotland (13/10/19 at 11:20 pm), McKenna expressed his frustrations at not getting a move and also stated that like ‘most players’ he does want to ‘move on’ in his career, as he interestingly questioned whether that will happen in January or next summer.
On there will be talk about his future again when the window re-opens: “It’s almost frustrating for me,” McKenna told Sportscene. “If anything, the injury has just made me focus on getting back fit and hopefully that’ll benefit me and Aberdeen.
“I want to do my best for Aberdeen, and as most players, they want to move on in their careers, whether that be in January or sometime in the future. I think the main thing for me is getting back and playing well for Aberdeen.”

Judging by McKenna’s comments, it does seem as though something will give either in a couple of months time, or next summer.
He does seem eager to move on in his career and potentially test himself at a Celtic or at a team that is pushing to get into the Premier League.
But until then, he will be looking to get back to full fitness and sharpness following an injury and let his football do the talking on the pitch.
