Ouest-France have claimed that Everton are interested in signing Angers’ versatile midfielder Angelo Fulgini this summer.
The Frenchman is reportedly attracting a lot of interest, both in France and from overseas. Fulgini will soon enter the final year of his contract and the Toffees are looking to land him for a bargain fee of just £4.5 million.
The 23-year-old is hugely versatile having played on both wings, in central midfield and as a right-back this season.
He only has one goal and an assist to his name in 20 league games this season, but there is more to his game than just those numbers.
Fbref have a record of his statistics for Angers and there is one stat that stands out, even though it isn’t really important in the modern game.
Fulgini has completed 12 nutmegs in the league this season, more than anyone else in Europe’s top five leagues.
In a world where the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe slip the ball between opponents’ legs for fun, Fulgini’s tally becomes very impressive.
Dream Team FC even went on to label the young Frenchman as ‘Europe’s nutmeg king’ and his highness could soon be seen wearing an Everton top if things go their way.
The Toffees will, however, have to fight off interest from St. Etienne and Bordeaux. Although that really shouldn’t be an issue ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
