Aston Villa will be keen to sign Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings on a permanent basis this summer after his successful loan spell in the Championship.

Bournemouth defender and Aston Villa target Tyrone Mings has stated on Instagram that he ‘can’t wait for pre-season to begin’, with club legend Ian Taylor cheekily asking him ‘with who?’.
Centre-back Mings enjoyed a successful six-month loan spell at Villa last season by helping them earn promotion to the Premier League following their Championship play-off final win against Derby County.
Here is Mings’s message, which was posted on his personal Instagram account, with former Holte End favourite Taylor issuing his response:

But, as things stand, the defensive powerhouse is still a Bournemouth player and will be training with Eddie Howe’s side for pre-season, with the Villa seemingly keen to bring him back to the club.
The Birmingham Mail have previously reported that Dean Smith and Chief Executive Christian Purslow would have wanted Mings signed by now, but they are yet to agree a deal with the Cherries for his signature.
Either way, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Mings would want to join Villa considering the success he had at the club, and there’s no doubt the supporters want him back.

Villa have already re-signed two of their loanees from last season, with versatile defender Kortney Hause and winger Anwar El Ghazi putting pen-to-paper on a permanent contract.
The Midlands outfit have been one of the busiest teams in the transfer market this summer with the above two, Jota, Matt Targett and Wesley also joining the club.
Pre-season for Villa started on Wednesday morning, and Smith and Co. will be hoping Mings can join them sooner rather than later.
