Albert Adomah, Aaron Tshibola and Ollie Watkins have reacted on Instagram after Aston Villa signed Matty Cash from Nottingham Forest.
Whilst the former Villa duo sent their messages to Cash, Watkins, who has been heavily linked with the Premier League side [Telegraph], liked Cash’s message about how excited he was about joining the club (click on the post below and the likes button to see).
Adomah, who moved to Forest after his departure from Villa last summer, reacted to Cash’s post by saying: ‘Congratulations. I’ll see you around Birmingham. UTV’.
Whilst another former Villa player, and now at Kilmarnock, Tshibola wrote: ‘My bro. Congrats brother.” added with a heart eyes and praying hands emoji.
In a perhaps surprise move, Villa secured the services of the right-back after his outstanding season for a Forest side that missed out on a play-off place on the last day of the Championship season.
Cash will now provide more depth and competition for Dean Smith on the right-hand side, with Fred Guilbert and Ahmed Elmohamady also vying for that number one right-back spot.
Cash is versatile and can operate in the middle of the park, hence his strong technical skills, and can also play as a winger.
But it’s as a right-sided fullback that has resulted in him catching the eye of the Villa boss, who now has some big decisions to make.
Does he stick with both Guilbert and Elmohamady and use Cash further up the pitch? Or does he part ways with one of them?
Most Villa fans would think it’s the Egyptian who would be heading for the exit door, but given that Ezri Konsa played ahead of both players after the restart and then Elmo played ahead of Guilbert, is perhaps an indication.
