Following Aston Villa’s promotion to the Premier League, Dean Smith’s side are firmly putting their foot on the accelerator when it comes to potential summer transfers.

Lewis Dunk could come face-to-face with his hero John Terry if he makes a reported switch to Aston Villa this summer.
The Sun have claimed that Villa are interested in the Brighton and Hove Albion defender as Dean Smith aims to strengthen his backline.
As a youngster, it won’t be a surprise to hear that centre-back Dunk tried to emulate Villa’s senior figure John Terry in the park.
With Villa keen on Dunk’s services, just like Tyrone Mings in January, Terry’s influence and presence at Villa could potentially result in another admirer of his joining the club
“I watched Terry from a young age and I used to pretend to be him in the park with my mates,” Dunk told the Daily Mail last year.
“He loves defending — he likes to play, too, but didn’t mind shoving his body in the way of a shot and getting hurt.”

As a player, Terry is regarded as one of the best, if not the best centre-backs to have played during the Premier League era, with the former Champions League winner now working alongside Dean Smith at Villa.
It is now looking like he is transcending that into management because he has played his part in Villa’s rapid rise back to the promised land.
After the heartbreak of losing the play-off final last May to Fulham, Terry played his part on the training pitch and on the sidelines as the current crop crossed the line this time around.
