The 26-year-old forward has been in superb goalscoring form in recent months, but Borussia Dortmund are now willing to consider a sale.
Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is going nowhere this summer, according to the German club’s general manager Michael Zorc, news that may well disappoint the likes of Arsenal, who have been linked with the Gabon international according to the Mirror.
The 26-year-old has scored 41 goals in his two seasons at the Bundesliga giants, moving to a centre forward position midway through last season, before registering a superb 26 goals by the end of the campaign, his highest ever number in one season.
It’s been enough for the player to be linked with some of the biggest sides around Europe, especially with Dortmund out of the Champions League next year after finishing way down in 7th position.
However, Zorc has made it clear that the club’s star attacker is going nowhere,quoted by the Mirror as telling the media: “Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a player of Borussia Dortmund and we do not have any plan to sell him. That’s a fact.”
Arsenal have been linked with the rapid forward this summer, with Arsene Wenger said to still be eager to add a reliable goalscorer to his squad to aid the pressure on Olivier Giroud.
The Gunners also have Danny Welbeck, Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez who can play as centre forwards, but there are no specialised strikers at the club except the French international.
