Brondby star Jesper Lindstrom hopes that a serious knee injury will not scupper a summer move following links to Arsenal or West Ham United, as he told BT.
Talk about bad timing.
Just weeks before the transfer window swings open, one of the most exciting young talents in Scandinavian football might just have seen a dream move slip through his fingers.
Lindstrom has suffered what BT describe as a ‘shocking knee injury’, with surgery the only recourse.
Will Arsenal or West Ham now drop their interest in a skillful attacking midfielder who shot to fame with ten goals and ten assists during his breakthrough season in the Danish top flight (Jeunes Footeaux)?
Lindstrom is hoping that isn’t the case.
“I do not know, damn it,” Lindstrom said when asked if Brondby were planning to sell him over the summer.
“Right now, I just want to do my best to win a Championship with the club that I love the most. When everything then starts to roll again, we can talk.”

When pressed on his injury, Lindstrom hopes that his suitors are willing to overlook a problem that could keep him on the sidelines for an extended period of time.
“I do not know what the interested clubs say to such a thing. And that’s hard to say in football,” Lindstrom added.
“It is also not the biggest injury in the world, so I hope and believe that it is something the clubs choose to ignore.”
Lindstrom has a meniscus problem and, according to the HealthLine website, similar issues tend to take around two months to heal.
