Boca making a move for Ospina could hasten the sale of his Colombian teammate, Wilmar Barrios, who has been linked with Tottenham.
The Argentine side have a very limited number of foreign players they can use in their squad, and they are already at the limit.
Ospina’s arrival would mean a foreign player has to exit, and Barrios is the lead candidate because he could fetch the highest figure.
The Sun first reported Tottenham’s interest in the £25 million midfielder before the World Cup, and links have persisted since.
Marca Colombia reported this week that Spurs have made contact with Barrios’ family, and Ospina’s arrival makes his departure from Boca more likely.
