Brazilian sensation Brenner plans to leave Sao Paulo in the near future with Arsenal facing competition from Real Madrid for his £45 million-rated signature, as reported by Defensa Central.
Considering that both the Gunners and the La Liga champions have raided the Brazilian market on multiple occasions in recent transfer windows, you would have got short odds on Brenner finding himself at the centre of a tug-of-war between the English and the Spanish giants.
Since hiring former Samba star Edu Gaspar as their technical director, Arsenal have landed Gabriel Martinelli and Pablo Mari, while also offering a fresh start to former Chelsea stars Willian and David Luiz.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, certainly have a history when it comes to paying huge sums for fresh-faced South American sensations.
Juni Calafat, Rael’s head of international football, played a major role in the signings of Vinicius Jr, Reinier Jesus and Rodrygo Goes. And it is no surprise that he is at the heart of a deal that could see Brenner move to the Santiago Bernabeu in the New Year.
Defensa Central reports that Calafat has been watching the lethal attacker for a number of months.
Brenner will welcome interest from the 13-time European champions too, given that he is planning to make the move to Europe before his Sao Paulo contract expires in 2022.

This comes after Calciomercato linked Arsenal, AC Milan, Juventus, Ajax and Lazio for a man who has a £45 million release clause in his contract.
At the age of 20, Brenner already boasts a strike-rate most forwards would be proud off in a Brazilian league that is far more pragmatic than you would perhaps expect it to be, given the nation’s Jogo Bonito history.
The Sao Paulo talisman scored his 17th goal in 25 games against Goias EC on Wednesday.
