Norwich City manager Daniel Farke has labelled reported Arsenal target Emi Buendia the “best attacking midfielder” in the Championship after last night’s 7-0 thrashing of Huddersfield Town, as reported by BT Sport.
Speaking in March, Buendia’s agent insisted his client would be playing Premier League football in 2021/22.
Whether that’s with Norwich, however, remains to be seen.
The twinkle-toed playmaker is a long-standing target for one of England’s biggest clubs. EuroSport claims Arsenal will make a summer bid for the Argentine in the summer transfer window.
And, as table-topping Norwich put Huddersfield to the sword at Carrow Road, Buendia justified his £40 million rating during a performance of supreme quality – an uber-talented footballer proving beyond all reasonable doubt he belongs at a far higher level.
“Emi is the best attacking midfielder (in the league) and you saw that again tonight,” Farke said after Buendia added a hat-trick of assists to a trademark, laser-guided strike from the edge of the penalty area.

In total, the former Getafe youngster has 12 goals to his name this season while setting up a further 16 for his grateful Norwich teammates.
Martin Odegaard won’t be an easy man to replace at the Emirates when his Real Madrid loan spell comes to an end. But Buendia’s blend of tenacity, technique and effortless end product certainly make him a prime candidate to take the Norwegian’s place in Mikel Arteta’s midfield.
