Roma have decided to sell reported Newcastle United and West Ham target Pau Lopez after an error-strewn debut season at the Stadio Olimpico, according to Calciomercato.
In quotes reported by Football Italia, the goalkeeper’s agent made it clear that he was loving life in the Italian capital and had no plans to walk away despite finding himself on the hit-list of many a Premier League club.
But, after a disastrous couple of weeks to end a testing first season between the sticks for Roma, the decision may be taken out of Roma’s hands.
The Giallorossi’s Europa League dream died when Lopez allowed a Sergio Requilon shot to squirm through his legs during the last-16 defeat to Sevilla and it seems that this was the final straw.
Because, according to Calciomercato, Roma have now decided to cash in on a man they signed from Real Betis just a year ago.
What’s more, Alessio Cragno, Alex Meret, Pierluigi Gollini, Salvatore Sirigu and Argentina international Esteban Andrada have been lined up as potential replacements.

Leggo claimed last month that Newcastle were willing to offer former Tottenham youngster Lopez a second chance in the Premier League.
The £23 million-rated Spaniard also has admirers at West Ham and Chelsea, according to Calciomercato in June.
Hammers’ number one Lukasz Fabianski has not quite been the same since spending a prolonged spell on the sidelines with injury while, at Newcastle, Martin Dubravka committed a number of high-profile blunders last season even if he did bail out his team-mates more often than not.
And, as he showed at Betis and Espanyol, Lopez is far better than his time at Roma suggests.
