Reported 23-goal Arsenal and Spurs target comments on his future

Genk’s highly sought after striker Jonathan David spoke to Sky Sports about his future beyond the end of this season.

The Canadian has had a spectacular campaign in the Belgian top flight, scoring 23 goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions.

David has caught the attention of a number of top clubs in the Premier League including Arsenal (Goal), Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. (Walfoot)

However, the English trio could be left disappointed with David revealing that another league would suit him the best if he moves this summer.

David said: “It’s time for me to move and go somewhere where I can keep developing and get to the potential that I have. The league that would suit me the most right now is the Bundesliga.

“It’s similar to the Belgian league in terms of the tempo and the physicality, but obviously the quality is higher in Germany and there is more competition”.

David isn’t short of options with Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Monchengladbach, RB Leipzig, and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are all said to be interested. (Transfermarkt)

Arsenal are at risk of losing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer and David was reported to be his replacement had he left the Gunners.

Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham are on the lookout for a striker to partner or play as a backup to Harry Kane and David could well have been either.

It now seems like the two North London rivals will have to look elsewhere to find a striker, as David looks set to move to a German club this summer.
