Leeds United target Emi Buendia has set his sights on staying in England rather than returning to Spain this summer, according to the Independent.
As the Norwich City boss Daniel Farke said himself, we are in an age obsessed with stats, figures, graphs and charts (Pink ‘Un).
But cold, hard numbers cannot explain the warm, fuzzy feeling you only get from watching players like Buendia strut their stuff.
In 37 Premier League games last season, the Argentine play-maker scored just once as Norwich bombed out of the top flight at the first time of asking.
But while a less-than-stellar goal-scoring record is often used as a stick with which to beat Buendia, the Carrow Road faithful will tell you that there are not many midfielders in the Premier League who create as many chances as this diminutive 23-year-old.
In fact, if Teemu Pukki and Josip Drmic had shown an ability to hit that proverbial barndoor in 2020, Buendia surely would have reached double figures for assists.

Seven is not a bad tally of course.
And, with Leeds perhaps a little overly reliant on Pablo Hernandez, the 35-year-old wizard of West Yorkshire, another player with the ability to crack open a locked defence would be well received at Elland Road.
The Independent reports that Buendia has been a target for Leeds since 2018.
After sampling the sweet taste of Premier League life, the one-time Real Madrid youngster has his heart set on staying in England despite interest from La Liga clubs.
Interestingly, the £20 million-rated Buendia spent the 2017/18 season at Leeds’ one-time sister club Cultural Leonesa.
