Isco is planning to sell his house in the Spanish capital as the reported Arsenal target plans a January escape from his Real Madrid purgatory, as reported by Defensa Central.
Just like James Rodriguez before him, the former Valencia and Malaga star feels like a footballing superstar in need of change of scene.
Not only has the Spain international play-maker started just three La Liga games this season, he has also played a grand total of 13 minutes in the Champions League, with Zinedine Zidane preferring the thrust of Fede Valverde to the craft of the long-serving Isco.
Fortunately for the four-time European champion, there is another continental giant crying out for someone capable of unlocking defences with a swerving, weaving dart or a slide-rule through ball.
DC claimed a fortnight ago that Mikel Arteta has asked for the backing of his Arsenal board as he looks to lure Isco to North London during the January transfer window.
The Gunners have also been linked with Salzburg sensation Dominik Szoboszlai but Isco, at 28, feels like less of a long-term project and more a player capable of immediately slotting into Arteta’s XI and making a difference, a la Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United.
What is more, with Real demanding just £18 million (the Mirror), Isco would cost around £5 million less than the 20-year-old Hungarian.
DC adds that, although Zinedine Zidane has not given up hope of keeping the bandy-legged orchestrator until the end of a grueling 2020/21 campaign, Isco’s mind is made up.
For him, January cannot come soon enough. Isco and his partner have even put their house up for sale; a surefire sign that a new adventure is calling.
“Right now, we have not received offers – but he wants to try in another league,” Isco’s father told El Larguero, via Football Espana.
