Reported Everton and Arsenal target Adrien Rabiot has laughed off rumours claiming that he has gone on strike at Juventus, taking aim at the reports via his Instagram page.
One of the most talented midfielders in European football is never far from the headlines. And he hit the gossip columns once again this week amid suggestions that his short-lived spell in Turin was coming to an end already.
The Sun (13 May, page 50) reported that a man who was dumped by France boss Didier Deschamps for his outspoken ways was less than impressed after being told to sacrifice £1.5 million of his £6 million wages amid the ongoing global health crisis which threatens to hit football hard in the pocket.
The publication added that Rabiot, who spent most of his final season at PSG out of favour and out of sight, was on ‘strike’ at Juventus.
But that is not exactly how the man himself sees things.
“When you realise that it was your last day of… strike. Newspaper, TV – don’t swallow,” Rabiot quipped, obviously seeing the funny side of things in quotes translated by Goal.

This comes amid claims from FootMercato that Rabiot has been in talks with Carlo Ancelotti, the man who handed him a senior debut at PSG eight years ago, about a potential reunion at Everton. Arsenal are also in the race for the £120,000-a-week powerhouse according to Calciomercato.
While another high-profile move does appear to be on the cards, considering that Rabiot has started just 11 Serie A matches under Maurizio Sarri, it seems that claims of a row between the Frenchman and Juventus were a little wide of the mark.
