Remi Oudin’s ten Ligue 1 goals for Reims have reportedly impressed Premier League pair Newcastle United and Watford.

Remi Oudin of Reims celebrates his goal during the Ligue 1 match between Reims and Nice at Stade Auguste Delaune on January 19, 2019 in Reims, France.

Remi Oudin has confirmed that he plans to move abroad in the future in an interview with Le Parisien, as Newcastle United and Watford continue to be linked with the so-called ‘new Robin Van Persie’.

The 22-year-old has emerged as a real future star since rising through the ranks at Reims in France’s top flight. He has scored 10 goals in 36 Ligue 1 games this season with his eye for the spectacular drawing comparisons with the former Arsenal and Manchester United talisman Van Persie.

Oudin’s form has caught the eye of clubs from across the channel with the Sun reporting that Newcastle and Watford are interested in a forward who is valued at £10 million.

Watford have already seen an opening bid of £7 million rejected.

And, while Oudin has made it clear that he is loving life at Reims right now, he has refused to rule out a move away from the Stade Auguste Delaune.

“It is a goal to go abroad to discover another culture and another football,” said the Frenchman.

“I do not know (where I will play next season). For the moment, I am happy at my club. In football, everything can go fast. My goal is to take a step forward here or somewhere else.”

Newcastle owner Mike Ashely has been famously reluctant to invest over the years but a £10 million deal for a 22-year-old with huge promise could be exactly what he is looking for – namely, a player with substantial sell-on potential.
