According to Le10 Sport, Zinedine Zidane wants Real Madrid to go and win the race for Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Kai Havertz.

It’s claimed that Zidane has been ‘completely seduced’ by Havertz and his quality. Zidane allegedly talks about Havertz a lot, and is hoping Real will move for him.

Havertz’s representatives have allegedly been contacted by Real, with the Spanish giants making their intentions clear. A move has been prepared for months, but no bid has materialised yet.

It’s noted that Liverpool are one of the teams in the race, but Real now hope to jump the queue and bring the German talent to Spain.

The Express reported in February that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is ‘desperate’ to sign Havertz, in what could have been a club-record deal.

This was before the global pandemic though. Liverpool’s spending plans have likely changed since then, with big-money signings unlikely now.

A move for Havertz may have to be delayed, but that could give Real the chance to swoop in. It’s unclear how much Real will be able to spend, but Zidane seems desperate to sign him.

The 20-year-old has hit 12 goals and seven assists this season, and looks set for a huge future. Capable of playing as a number 10, on the right flank or even as a false nine, Havertz has ideal versatility for Liverpool – but Real could spoil their plans.
