Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez is reportedly on the radar of Zenit Saint Petersburg.

Zenit Saint Petersburg are interested in appointing Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez as their new manager, according to The Northern Echo.

It has been reported that former Liverpool and Chelsea manager Benitez is aware of the interest from Russian side Zenit.

The Spaniard, though, according to the report, does not want to leave the Premier League for Russia this summer.

Reassuring for Newcastle United fans

Benitez has been brilliant for Newcastle and was the star of the Magpies’ 2017-18 Premier League campaign.

For the Magpies to progress as a club and to regularly challenge for top-10 finishes in the Premier League, they need the former Liverpool manager to be in charge of the Reds.

The Spaniard should be backed in the summer transfer window and should be given the funds he needs to make the current team better.

For much of the 2017-18 season, Newcastle had to fight for survival in the Premier League, and the St. James’ Park faithful deserve much more than that.
