Celtic and Swansea City have been linked with Borja Iglesias.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Real Zaragoza have already started searching for a new striker in preparation for losing reported Celtic target Borja Iglesias this summer.
Iglesias, 25, joined Zaragoza on loan from Celta Vigo last summer, and has been a sensation in the second tier of Spanish football this season with 12 goals in 27 games for Zaragoza.
With no purchase clause in his loan deal and virtually no chance of him staying in the Segunda Division, Iglesias is set to move on this summer – and Zaragoza are preparing for his exit.
AS claim that Zaragoza’s sporting director Lalo Arantegui has been scouting in Brazil for a potential replacement, as they seemingly accept that Iglesias will be moving on.
Heading for Britain?
Iglesias is bound to attract major interest of the back of his goalscoring exploits in Spain, and reports last week suggested that there are clubs in Britain lining up moves.
El Periodico de Aragon reported that Celtic and Swansea City are both keen to sign Iglesias, and could go head-to-head for his signature this summer.
A physical striker standing at 6ft 2in tall, Iglesias has shown aerial and hold-up ability, leading the line as a classic centre forward, which may well be a good fit for Swansea under Carlos Carvalhal.
Celtic’s interest is a little more of a surprise given their style of play, but manager Brendan Rodgers may sense a bargain, especially with Moussa Dembele potentially leaving this summer.
