Sebastien Bassong might not be the only former Norwich City player to sign for Birmingham City in the near future.

HITC Sport understands Bassong will be offered a contract until the end of the season following a spell on trial with the Blues.

And according to The Birmingham Mail, the defender’s old teammate, Youssouf Mulumbu, is himself open to a move to St Andrew’s.

Mulumbu was released by Norwich alongside Bassong in May, and has yet to find a new club.

Before his move to Carrow Road two years ago, the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder was on the books of Birmingham’s local rivals West Bromwich Albion.

Still only 30, Mulumbu has racked up 164 Premier League appearances throughout his career, as well as 53 for Norwich in the Championship.

He is also an international colleague of Blues winger Jacques Maghoma, having won 39 games for the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Birmingham travel to Norwich in the Championship on Saturday, though it remains to be seen whether or not Bassong or Mulumbu will be involved.
