West Bromwich Albion’s offer is said to be £50,000 short of Yeovil Town’s valuation.

Yeovil Town have rejected an offer from West Bromwich Albion for right-back Tom James, according to the Daily Mail (July 31, live blog entry 16:02).
The newspaper reports West Brom have bid £350,000 for James – although the Baggies are only said to be £50,000 short of the League Two side’s valuation of the player.
It remains to be seen, however, whether a fresh approach will arrive from the Hawthorns.
Meanwhile, the Express and Star claims West Brom could face competition for James from Championship rivals Swansea City and Hull City.

James only moved to Yeovil from Cardiff City a year-and-a-half ago, and became a regular in his first full season at Huish Park.
The 22-year-old, who can also operate at left-back, recently entered the final 12 months of his contract, however, leaving Yeovil at risk of losing him for next-to nothing during next summer’s transfer window.
