According to Calciomercato, Santos winger Yeferson Soteldo could now join Inter Milan after links with a move to Inter Milan.

It’s claimed that Inter have long held an interest in signing Soteldo, with his dribbling and low centre of gravity attracting their admiration.

Atalanta are also interested in Soteldo, believing that he could be the heir to Papu Gomez as a diminutive, skilful and creative attacker.

Who is Yeferson Soteldo?

The 23-year-old isn’t a household name, and has spent his career in South America with Venezuelan side Zamora, Chilean outfits Huachipato and Universidad de Chile and now Brazilian giants Santos.

He stands at just 5ft 2in tall, making him one of the smallest players around, but he has impressed with 13 goals and 13 assists in 63 games for Santos.

On the international stage, Soteldo has picked up one goal in 20 caps for Venezuela, and predominantly plays as a left-sided winger, cutting in on his right foot.

What about Everton?

Back in March, Santos president Jose Carlos Peres told Calciomercato that Everton wanted to sign Soteldo, and he had also told Inter to pay €35million for Soteldo, which is around £31.5million.

Everton didn’t end up signing Soteldo over the summer, and he would only really make sense if the Toffees lost Bernard, given their similar style and stature.

That could yet happen in January, but with Champions League duo Inter and Atalanta now keen, Everton would face a battle if they do want the Venezuelan star.
