According to SPORT, Barcelona have put their interest in Arthur Cabral on standby, with Newcastle and West Ham also interested.
What’s the story?
Well, the Spanish news outlet believe Barcelona have shelved their pursuit of the Brazilian for now, leaving the door open to Newcastle and West Ham.
SPORT believe Deco – who is working for Joan Laporta in Brazil – has recommended Cabral, although Barcelona are not fully convinced.
Barcelona had made contact, although they now seem to have lost interest after deciding that the FC Basel striker doesn’t tick all the boxes.
It comes after Swiss news outlet 442 revealed that West Ham had made a £17m bid for the 23-year-old, who is on fire this season.
In 27 games for FC Basel, Cabral has scored 25 goals while also providing eight assists.
According to Goal, Newcastle have also made a move for the South American, who is enjoying the best season of his career.
Barcelona news is huge for West Ham and Newcastle

Thanks to the likes of Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Rivaldo, Barcelona are often challenging to turn down when it comes to Brazilian players.
In fact, an earlier report from SPORT claimed that Cabral was extremely keen on a move to the Camp Nou to link up with Xavi.
In that respect, it’s a huge bonus for the Magpies and the Hammers to see Barcelona withdraw their interest.

With all due respect to the Premier League duo, they didn’t stand much of a chance up against a giant of a club such as Barcelona, even in spite of their current problems.
Keep an eye on this saga, as we could now see Cabral in the Premier League very soon.
