According to The Express, Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst.
It’s claimed that Weghorst has ‘re-emerged’ as a realistic target for Spurs, because Wolfsburg are willing to sell.
Tottenham looked at Weghorst in January, but didn’t make their move, and could now swoop with Jose Mourinho still needing a centre forward.
Wolfsburg allegedly want £27million for Weghorst, and are open to a payment plan that would spread the cost and guarantee his exit.
An unnamed Premier League club allegedly held advanced talks to sign Weghorst before the global pandemic, and that could now play into Tottenham’s hands.
Weghorst wants to play at the European Championships with the Netherlands next summer, but is prepared to gamble with a move to Spurs – and is willing to play as backup to Harry Kane.

Weghorst, 28, is the giant target man that Jose Mourinho appears to be looking for, standing at a huge 6ft 6in tall whilst possessing great strength and aerial ability.
The former AZ Alkmaar star has hit 40 goals and 12 assists in 81 games for Wolfsburg, including a brace against FK Kukesi in the Europa League qualifiers last night – and if Spurs get their way, he won’t be scoring many more for the German side.
