According to a report from Swedish outlet Expressen, Wolves held intensive talks with Djurgardens about a potential move for Felix Beijmo but ultimately decided against a move for the 19-year-old.

Beijmo enjoyed a brilliant season last year. He made 26 appearances, including 25 starts, scoring twice and providing three assists from right-back as Djurgardens finished third in the top flight.

That form has attracted the attention of Championship leaders Wolves. Expressen reports that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side entered talks with the Swedish side regarding a potential move this month. However, it appears that there is no chance of late deal taking place during the final hours of the window.

Expressen suggests that Wolves were holding talks with a number of players at the same time that they were in discussions with Beijmo, and have ultimately decided against pursuing a move for the youngster during this window.

If Beijmo enjoys another promising season however, it would be absolutely no surprise if Wolves returned to have another look and were joined by several sides also looking to bag his signature.

Wolves will be hoping to at least maintain their 11 point advantage at the top of the Championship when they take on fellow promotion chasers Sheffield United at Molineux on Saturday.
