According to The Mirror, Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking to raid bitter rivals West Bromwich Albion this summer for the signature of defender Craig Dawson.

Wolves have already clinched promotion to the Premier League, and whilst many are focused on who could be brought in thanks to Jorge Mendes, manager Nuno Espirito Santo knows the value of domestic stars too.

The likes of John Ruddy, Ryan Bennett and Barry Douglas played a major part in Wolves’ promotion having signed last summer, and the Molineux club may yet look for proven Premier League players to aid their cause next term.

Whilst Wolves have enjoyed a superb season, the same cannot be said for their bitter rivals West Brom, who sit bottom of the Premier League table – and The Mirror now report that Wolves could look to raid the Baggies.

It’s claimed that Wolves are one of three clubs interested in Baggies defender Craig Dawson, with Burnley and West Ham also thought to be keen on handing the relegation-bound ace an instant return to the Premier League.

Dawson, 27, signed for West Brom from Rochdale back in 2010, and has now racked up nearly 200 games for the club, whilst impressing as a goalscoring defender having found the net 12 times.

Wolves fans may not be too enthused about signing a West Brom player set for relegation, but Dawson is a versatile and dependable defender who could play a key role for Nuno next season.
