According to The Mirror (13/12, p62), Wolverhampton Wanderers want to bring Salomon Rondon back to the Premier League.
It’s claimed that Wolves have started establishing a shortlist of potential replacements for Raul Jimenez, who suffered a major head injury against Arsenal last month.
Young striker Fabio Silva is one for the future, so Wolves may want an experienced, short-term addition to tide them over until Jimenez returns.
Rondon is thought to be on that list, and the 31-year-old could well be tempted back to European football having joined Dalian Pro in 2019.
The Venezuelan is no stranger to the area, as he joined Wolves’ bitter rivals West Bromwich Albion from Zenit St Petersburg in 2015.
Rondon scored 28 goals in 120 games for the Baggies, but really impressed on loan at Newcastle United in the 2018-19 season with 12 goals in 33 games.

Rondon is a big and physical presence at 6ft 1in tall, whilst he has Premier League experience meaning he could slot in with Jimenez out.
He is currently playing for Rafael Benitez at Dalian Pro, but a return to England would surely appeal to the striker – even if it’s with West Brom’s rivals.
