According to a report from The Sun, Wolves are keeping a keen eye on Norwich striker Nelson Oliveira as Nuno Espirito Santo looks for the additions that are going to see his side capitalise on their current position in the Championship table.

Wolves look to be well on their way to securing promotion out of the second tier. They go into their first match in 2018, a home game against Brentford on Tuesday, 10 points clear of second place Derby County – who could close the gap should they beat Sheffield United today – and it almost appears inevitable that Molineux will be a Premier League ground from next season.

However, Nuno and the Wolves hierarchy are not prepared to leave anything to chance, and they are planning to bolster their options during the January transfer window.

One player they reportedly like the look of, according to The Sun, is Norwich forward Oliveira. The 26-year-old has scored seven times in the Championship this term, while he found the back of the net 11 times in the league last season.

The Sun reports that the Canaries’ top goalscorer is represented by Jorge Mendes, who has links with the hierarchy at Wolves and thus, a move may not be too difficult to try and engineer.

With Leo Bonatini and Diogo Jota both reaching double figures for the season already, Wolves certainly have the quality in attack to ensure that they make the most of their current position.

But having that additional depth up front could potentially make a massive difference as the season continues, and if Oliveira proves to be the man to provide that depth, then it would surely be even more difficult to find a reason to suggest that Wolves will not be securing automatic-promotion to the top flight.
