Wolverhampton Wanderers have shown an interest in £32 million AC Milan forward Rafael Leao, according to Calciomercato, with the Portugal international the latest Jorge Mendes client to be linked with the Molineux outfit.
Not content with luring Rui Patricio, Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves and more to the Black Country, speculation suggests that Wolves will be looking to take advantage of Mendes’ extensive contact book once again when the transfer window opens.
The Premier League high-flyers have already been linked with the £80 million-rated Benfica centre-back Ruben Dias, according to BleacherReport.
And, now, thanks to reports in Italy, Leao has emerged onto the scene with the former Sporting Lisbon wonderkid in the midst of an impressive run of form in the red and black of AC Milan.
Calciomercato claims that the 21-year-old, who has become something of a supersub in recent weeks, is of interest to not just Wolves but also Milan’s Serie A rivals Napoli.
Interestingly, Leao has been compared to not just Cristiano Ronaldo in his short career but also a Brazilian legend of the same name.
High praise indeed.

“Rafael is a No 9,” Tiago Fernandes, a former Sporting coach, told Tuttomercatoweb last year. “I’d say that he reminds me of ‘Fenomeno’ Ronaldo for his pace, technique and the quality of his finishing.”
A few months earlier, Fernandes also claimed to L’Equipe that Leao was ‘better’ than a fresh-faced Cristiano Ronaldo during his formative years in Sporting’s famed youth academy.
With just five goals in 28 games for Milan, however, Leao has a long way to go if he is to match either Ronaldo in the years to come.
