Wolverhampton Wanderers and Watford are interested in signing Brazilian centre-back Bruno Viana this summer, with A Bola suggesting that Braga will listen to offers of around £18 million.

Interestingly enough, the former Olympiakos powerhouse is not the first Braga star to be linked with a move to Molineux.

Reports from CM Jornal have suggested that Palhinha, a hard-running, hard-working ball-winner of a midfielder, had admirers in the Black Country.

And, two months on, another player who helped Braga beat Wolves 1-0 at Molineux in this season’s Europa League group stage has seemingly emerged on their radar.

A Bola claim that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are interested in the 6ft 1ins centre-half who has also emerged as a target for Italian giants AC Milan and Lazio.

This comes amid suggestions from BleacherReport that Wolves are looking to reinforce an already impressive back line during the upcoming transfer window and Viana, at £18 million, is a far cheaper option than Benfica’s Portugal international Ruben Dias.

Watford are also in the race to sign Viana, who has a £23 million release clause in his contract.

Ask any Hornets fan and they will tell you that their Achilles heel lies at the heart of their defence, with technical director Filippo Giraldi coming under fire for failing to invest appropriately in a problem position last summer.

Viana would be a solution, albeit a very expensive one.
