According to Own Goal Nigeria, Wolves are interested in signing FC Porto defender Zaidu Sanusi, who has impressed hugely this season.

The 23-year-old has made 39 appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese giants this term, helping them reach the Champions League quarter-final.

As a result, he has caught Nuno Espirito Santo’s eye.

The report claims that FC Porto value the 3-cap Nigeria international at €20 million (£17.3 million).

It also adds that Wolves have already made contact with Sanusi’s representatives, just one year after FC Porto signed him from Santa Clara.

Own Goal Nigeria state that FC Porto feel they will receive more money for the left-back if he stays for another season.

That will presumably concern Wolves, who might have to offer a bit more this summer to tempt him away from the Estádio do Dragão, in our view.

Impressively, Sanusi helped silence none other than Cristiano Ronaldo when Juventus took on FC Porto in the Champions League last 16.

Across two legs, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner didn’t score once, as Sanusi and his teammates overcame the Italian giants.

From our point of view, this news could suggest that Wolves aren’t convinced by Rayan Aït-Nouri.

The 19-year-old is currently on loan at Molineux with an option for Wolves to buy him.

However, if they’re looking at other left-backs like Sanusi, do they still want the Frenchman around next season? Only time will tell.
