According to a report from TEAMtalk, Wolves are not only leading the race to secure promotion out of the Championship, but they also find themselves in pole position to sign 15-year-old left-back Harrison Webster from Hartlepool United – but they should expect Premier League competition for his signature from West Ham and Leicester.

Webster may still be a couple of years away from being old enough to learn to drive, but he is pushing for a first-team chance with the National League side and that has caught the attention of a number of high-profile clubs.

Potential coup for Wolves?

Wolves look destined to win the Championship title at something of a canter after a tremendous year for the club. Their critics may point to their spending power, but there have been a number of occasions down the years where big-spending sides have failed to put up any kind of promotion charge so nothing should take away from what they have done.

Nevertheless, it would still be a big coup and significant statement if they were able to win the race to sign the 15-year-old with two established Premier League sides also chasing his signature.
