Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United reportedly want to sign Ivan Cavaleiro from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the January transfer window.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have told Leeds United that Ivan Cavaleiro will not leave in the January transfer window, according to The Telegraph.

It has been reported that Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa wants to sign Cavaleiro on loan this month until the end of the season.

Wolves, though, do not want the 25-year-old – who can operate as a winger or as a forward – to leave and have told the Championship club that the Portugal international will stay at the Molineux Stadium, according to the report.

Disappointment for Leeds United

Cavaleiro is struggling for playing time at the moment at Wolves, and it is unlikely that the Portuguese will become a regular for the Wanderers in the second half of the season even though he has now fully recovered from his back injury.

The Portugal international will be a very good signing for Leeds, given his versatility and experience in the Championship.

According to WhoScored, Cavaleiro has made five starts and nine substitute appearances in the Premier League for Wolves so far this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist in the process.

During the 2017-18 campaign, the attacker made 31 starts and 11 substitute appearances in the Championship for the Wanderers, scoring nine goals and providing 12 assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
