Wolves remain keen on AC Milan striker Rafael Leao after failing to sign him this summer according to CalcioMercato.
The Italian outlet is claiming that the Midlands club seriously probed Milan about signing their young prospect.
That never came to fruition, but Nuno Espirito Santo still reportedly wants him.
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that he is a target. After all, he is represented by Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute agency; a rich source for new Wolves signings in recent years.
The report states that Nuno Espirito Santo is a big fan of Leao and that he would like him at Molinuex, but the Serie A giants were unwilling to budge when it came to selling him.
Milan’s decision not to sell Leao has certainly paid off so far this season. He has bagged two goals and registered three assists in five games so far, proving to be a valuable commodity.

CalcioMercato also claim that Leao is very happy at the San Siro and he wants to stay for a long time, so the chances of Wolves getting this deal over the line in January or next summer look rather slim at the moment.
Wolves are doing just fine without the Portuguese forward at the moment, as they sit sixth in the Premier League after seven games.
However, after the Milan striker’s electric start to this season, you can’t help but think they would be in a slightly better spot if they had signed him.
