Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly keen on Moussa Marega.

According to The Mirror, Wolverhampton Wanderers have moved ahead of West Ham United in the race to sign Porto striker Moussa Marega.

Wolves have tied up the permanent signing of Raul Jimenez after a superb loan spell, and he should feature in attack with Diogo Jota next season.

Yet with a Europa League campaign coming up and a lack of strikers to fit Nuno’s 3-5-2 system, expect to see at least one striker heading to Molineux.

The Mirror claim that Wolves are interested in signing Porto ace Marega, and have now jumped to the front of the queue for his signature.

It’s claimed that Nuno has made Marega a primary target for this summer, and Wolves are now preparing their move having scouted him against Sporting last weekend.

Nuno briefly worked with the 28-year-old at Porto, but loaned him out to Vitoria de Guimaraes, so pushing so hard to sign him now is something of a surprise.

Marega does possess great strength, pace and work rate, and whilst he may not be the most technically-gifted striker of all time, he’s certainly a handful.

It’s noted that West Ham want Marega too, and they had been considered the favourites to sign him, but Wolves sneaking in means that the Hammers may need to change their plans – whether that’s speeding up a move for the Mali international or looking elsewhere.
