Report: Wolves rivalling European trio for speed machine Ahmed Musa

Musa is likely to leave Leicester City this summer, with Wolves said to be keen.

Turkish newspaper Fanatik claim Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Leicester City speed machine Ahmed Musa, but face huge competition from three big European sides.

Musa, 25, has starred at the World Cup for Nigeria, scoring a brace in the Super Eagles’ 2-0 win over Iceland with a superb half-volley for his first and a sensational solo effort to complete the win.

His performances at the World Cup are said to have alerted clubs to his signature, with Wolves interested in landing the speed machine this summer after first being linked with the former CSKA Moscow star back in May.

However, Wolves may struggle to land Musa this summer, with Fanatik claiming European giants Wolfsburg, Marseille and Galatasaray are all interested in his signature – with his future at Leicester all but over.

Musa joined Leicester in the summer of 2016, and made 32 league and cup appearances in his first season. However, he managed just one outing during 17-18, scoring against Sheffield United and was loaned back to CSKA for the second half of the campaign.

He reignited his form with his old side and won a place in Nigeria’s World Cup squad with seven goals and three assists in 16 appearances. Now, Wolves are keen but face huge competition for his signature.
