Wolverhampton Wanderers have joined a host of Premier League sides in the running for Augsburg full-back Daniel Opare.

Opare has featured fairly regularly in the Bundesliga with Augsburg this season, making 14 appearances in the top flight. Though he has predominantly played at right-back this season, he is also capable of playing on the left-hand side of the defence.

And it appears that a host of Premier League sides are interested in bringing him to England, with the Mail’s live transfer feed reporting that the Irons, Leicester, Stoke City and Swansea City are all weighing up potential moves for the 27-year-old this month.
However, the top flight quartet will have to see off competition from Championship leaders Wolves if they hope to sign him, with the Mail adding that they are also having a look at the defender – who is out of contract this summer and is set to be available for around £3 million during this window.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men appear to be well on their way to securing promotion out of the second tier, so it may not be a huge surprise if Opare finds a move to Molineux appealing if a potential switch is offered to him.
Wolves will be hoping to extend their lead at the top of the table to 12 points when they host Brentford tonight after Derby County, Cardiff City and Bristol City all failed to win on New Year’s Day.
