According to reports from The Mirror (printed edition; October 16th – page 46), Wolverhampton Wanderers are ready to make Diogo Jota’s loan move a permanent one in the January transfer window.

Jota joined from Atletico Madrid in the summer on a season long loan, and has quickly become a fan favourite. The 20-year-old is currently Wolves’ top scorer with seven goals, but it is his all-round display that keeps the fans buzzing.

Jota was brilliant against Aston Villa as Wolves beat the Villans 2-0 to move to the top of the Championship table, two points clear of Cardiff City.

The young forward scored a fabulous goal with a 15 yards strike for Nuno’s side, before setting one up for Leo Bonatini.

Wolves have an option of making the deal permanent at the end of the loan, but such has been Jota’s influence, they’re not willing to wait till the end of the season.

The report claims that Wolves want to do the business in the January transfer window, and are hoping to wrap up the deal for him for a fee of £14 million.
